UIA recently met with the non-domestic lead at Citizens Advice. The object of this meeting was to make CAB aware of pitfalls for the customer should they sign to a contract through a TPI and then decide to remain with the incumbent. Such decisions can potentially leave them vulnerable to possible cost recovery for the entire contract term from the acting TPI as well as penalties from the supplier they had contracted with. This constructive meeting has helped strengthen our working relationship and ensures TPIs continue to have a voice within wider consumer advocacy discussions.
